Rotary Die Cutting
Rotary die-cutting is a form of die cutting that uses a cylindrical die on a rotary press.
How it works is that a long sheet or web of material is fed through the press into an area known as a “station.” The “station” holds a rotary tool that cuts out shapes, makes perforations or creases, or even cuts the sheet or web into smaller parts. Whatever custom, desired shape, we can make it happen.
A series of gears force the die to rotate at the same speed as the rest of the press, ensuring that any cuts the die makes line up with the printing on the material. Our die cut products include: gaskets, insulation, and labels. Primarily, we focus on the needs of industries including (but not limited to):
- Automotive
- Electrical
- Electronics
- Masking
- Medical
- Packaging
- Prime Label
Our cutting processes includes:
- Die-Cut
- Butt-Cut
- Kiss-Cut
- Sheet
- Steel rule dies
- Punch press
We work with a variety of materials, including:
- Copper
- Cork
- Fabrics
- Felt
- Films
- Foams
- Foils
- Kevlar
- Lead
- Paper
- Paper Board
- Plastics
- Pressure Sensitive Materials
For more information see the table below.
Rotary vs Flatbed
Rotary die cutting is faster than flatbed die cutting. Even though rotary cutting is a high-speed cutting process, it is very accurate and can be combined with numerous color labels. Due to precise registration, tight tolerances can be achieved and maintained.
