What Is Rotary Die Cutting?

In rotary die cutting, a long sheet or web of material is fed through the press into a station that holds a cylindrical rotary tool. That tool cuts out shapes, makes perforations or creases, or separates the web into smaller parts. A series of gears keeps the die rotating at the same speed as the rest of the press, so every cut lines up precisely with the printing on the material. The result is clean, accurate parts produced at high speed with tight, repeatable tolerances.

Rotary vs Flatbed Die Cutting

Rotary die cutting is faster than flatbed die cutting. Even though it’s a high-speed process, it remains highly accurate and can be combined with multi-color labels.
