AMD Converting & Label’s Solution:
Leveraging expertise in specialty coatings and custom converting, AMD engineered a unique solution:
- Created a “dead edge” coating applied to both edges of polyester tape so adhesive wasn’t tacky in these areas.
- Allowed operators to easily lift tape edges by hand, with no tools required.
- Converted polyester tape logs into standard 2” widths and rewound onto 72-yard rolls with 3” cores, making them compatible with industrial tape dispensers.
- Offered the flexibility to modify width and coating area to fit specific customer needs.
This innovative use of a specialty coating process transformed the customer’s tape application into a safer and more efficient workflow.
